THIS IS NOW ON STEAM AND IS SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY

https://store.steampowered.com/app/851530/MiniDead/

Mini-Dead is a short but intense boss fighting game, using a simple but incredibly effective game mechanic. The browser version has been limited to work with HTML5 but for the full experience download the EXE! My good friend exported a linux version which I have no way to test if it works. If there's any issues let me know!

  • Left mouse button only! The ultimate hardware for reflex based game play.
  • 144fps. If you have the monitor capable of reaching 144hz then this game is a bit mental to behold.
  • Cheeky secrets...

Mini-Dead was created to help bridge the gap between the release of it's bigger, harder version called Dead found here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/527150

Pretty fun game but a couple of issues that I felt were almost game ruining at times

1. Hot starts: this was very prevalent with Berserker it would instantly deal damage and not give the chance to properly prepare either have a entrance animation that is also clearly telegraphed or give immunity for a couple of seconds because it isn't fair to the player to die within 10 seconds cause you spawn on the boss and get combo'd (sure can be avoided but still)

2. Iris: Iris is a decent boss idea but I agree with a comment I saw in that there is too little telegraphing you are left wondering what they will spawn when they freeze in there infinity path as well as the fact that it is almost impossible to really deal damage with the way damage works since you cant get still for even like half a second so it isn't that fair to the player

3. Move overlap: this was mostly an issue an Iris but also in Fetus at times and I dont mean playing 2 moves at once because that is semi reasonable and can be entirely understandable but the sprites for the moves can overlap a lot so you are unable to CLEARLY see the moves leading the player to unfairly get dealt damage

other than that this is an extremely enjoyable game and a fun challenge its a neat idea that requires a lot of skill but I feel if the "issues" I listed are dealt with (along with the mouse out of screen area issue that I haven't mentioned) then it would feel like a very fair game 100% of the time instead of sometimes so keep up the great work :D

i loved

It's really fun!  The menu music is outstanding

Great game! Very fun

It's a good game, but there's just one tiny problem. Iris. The other bosses are both challenging but fair. Iris throws that out of the window. Iris doesn't have any sort of pattern, it just does whatever it feels like doing with absolutely no telegraphing whatsoever.

Very fun game! :)

I really like when I drag the mouse off the screen and when I let go it doesn't teleport me. Great feature.

Giving the player an option to go fullscreen or not breaking the game when I maximize it would certainly help.
The game is pretty good, though, don't get me wrong. Just this minor bug makes the game extremely unfair sometimes.

On the case! The Steam version has an option to lock the cursor to the game window.

Great concept and an interesting way of fighting. I took me a while to get used to, but after an hour of just recognizing patterns I finally beat all three of them :D Will be looking forward to seeing the bigger release on steam!

Having a toaster comp with a 144hz monitor, this game makes me really happy.

I do like that you have a maximum quality monitor with a little toaster comp. Bloody good on'ya

Amazing, will defs buy when it comes out to steam

Love the Berserk References, with the fetus and the Berserker, especially while I'm re-reading it for the 3rd time, really stoked to see it reflected well in the game (especially with the Berserker)

Currently trying to beat the secret, though one thing I will say is this is best downloaded and played, the full screen mode on the downloaded version removes the annoying out of window mouse problems, but otherwise really solid game 9/10

Thank you! I love Berserk and I just really wanted to fight Guts.

Took me about an hour to beat it. Was very fun! : ^)

Well done! And thank you for having the patience to play my game!

Awesome game, do you thing you could compile (port) this and the full version (when it comes out) for linux?

I don't see why not!
